Booru Browser is a free, open-source client application developed by Chris Watson (“I”, “me”). By installing or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
The app
Booru Browser is provided free of charge as open-source software. The source code is available on GitHub and your use of that code is governed by the license published there. These terms cover your use of the application itself, not the third-party content it can display.
No accounts, no servers
The app has no user accounts and I run no servers. Booru Browser ships with no default server list. It only connects to the booru sites you choose to add, and it talks to them directly from your device. I do not host, proxy, cache on my behalf, or relay any of that traffic.
Third-party sites and content
The images, tags, and other content you browse come from independent third-party services that I neither operate, control, nor endorse. Each site has its own terms of service, content, and rules, and your use of any site through the app is subject to that site’s terms. You are responsible for reviewing and complying with them, including any rules on API access, rate limits, and acceptable use.
I make no guarantee that any particular site will be reachable, will keep working, or will return any particular content. Sites may change, restrict access, or shut down at any time.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Booru Browser to:
- access, store, or distribute content that is illegal where you live;
- violate the terms, rules, or technical limits of any site you connect to;
- infringe the rights of artists or other rights holders; or
- break any applicable law or regulation.
You are solely responsible for the servers you add, the searches you run, and the media you view, download, or share.
Mature content and age
Booru Browser is rated 17+. Mature content is hidden by default and stays locked behind an explicit age confirmation that you must enable yourself. By unlocking it, you confirm that you are of legal age to view such material where you live and that doing so is lawful there. The app is not directed to children.
Intellectual property
Booru Browser does not own, license, or claim any rights to the content served by third-party sites. All artwork and other media remain the property of their respective creators and rights holders. Downloading or sharing media does not grant you any rights to it, and you are responsible for using it lawfully.
No warranty
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. I do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the app or of any third-party site accessed through it. Because the app is free, your sole remedy if you are unhappy with it is to stop using it and uninstall it.
Changes
These terms may change over time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised “last updated” date, and your continued use of the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
